Again, there was a nasty war going on and I've read enough war literature to know that there is an idealization of the glory of war that is overshadowed by what can be a very grim and traumatizing reality. I'm a pacifist at heart and think we should only resort to war as a last resort, never for financial gain. In this song, I imagine the perspective of a soldier who has figured out that the war she is fighting is not her own.
Civilization building has always been an violent art, though.
It's another brooding one, with some metal vibes.
